Which shorts for what
Fleece sweat shorts are the loungewear and streetwear choice and pair with a tee or hoodie. Nylon track shorts are the lightest and dry quickly, so they do double duty for the gym and the beach. Cargo shorts carry pockets and a workwear edge. Swim shorts should have a liner, a drawstring and a length that ends above the knee.
Length and fit
Inseam length changes the look more than the waist size. A 5 inch inseam sits mid-thigh and reads athletic; 7 inches is the balanced everyday length; 9 inches and above reaches the knee and suits taller frames. The product page lists the inseam and the waist width laid flat. Sizes run XS to XXL with an elastic or drawstring waist on most styles.
