Updated October 2026. The hoodie has become the piece around which most men's wardrobes are built, and this year the conversation is about fit: boxy and cropped, semi-oversized, or a longer loose pullover that sits over wide trousers. We have refreshed the list for the new season with more zip-through options and a wider run of greys and browns, because that is what sold.
Ranking was based on best-sellers over the last 90 days, return rates and how many ways each hoodie could be worn across a week. Every piece is made to the same specification as the boutique version, same fabrics, finished by hand. Orders ship free worldwide with tracking, carry 30-day returns and are priced below retail.
1. Zebra-striped pullover hoodie in ash grey
Striped from shoulder to hem in a tonal zebra pattern, this one carries the whole outfit, so keep the rest plain: straight black denim and a white trainer. The fleece is a heavy loopback cotton with a brushed interior. Boxy through the chest with a dropped shoulder; true to size from XS to XXL, or size down for a neater line.

2. Semi-oversized fit hoodie in grey
The semi-oversized cut is the fit most men should own first: wider than a standard hoodie without swamping, with a body that ends at the hip rather than the thigh. It sits well under an overcoat or a leather jacket and over a long-line tee. Mid-weight cotton fleece; order your usual size.

3. Basic pullover hoodie in grey chip camo
At the entry end of the list, a camo-print basic in a lighter fleece that earns its place through sheer wearability: gym, airport, Sunday. The print is low-contrast so it still reads as grey from across the street. Regular fit and slightly shorter in the arm; size up if you like your cuffs to cover the wrist.

4. Zip-up hoodie in grey
Zip-throughs are easier to style in a city because you can wear them open over a tee until the sun goes down. This one has a tall ribbed collar, a brushed heavyweight fleece and a straight body that works over cargo trousers or tapered sweats. Fit is relaxed; stay true to size across XS to XXL.

5. Zip hoodie in brown
Brown is the colour that has moved from niche to default this year, and it pairs better with faded denim and cream than any grey on this list. The fleece is a dense cotton with a heavy metal zip that runs smoothly through the collar. Cut regular in the body; a size up gives the roomier street look.

6. Slogan-print pullover hoodie in blue
Printed front and back in a large block typeface, this is the piece for the days you want to be noticed. Wear it with black tailored trousers to give the print something to push against. The cotton is heavyweight and the fit is oversized; it runs large, so go down a size if you are between.

7. Oversized zip hoodie in black
Cut long and wide with a chunky two-way zip, the silhouette here is closer to a short coat than a hoodie, which is how it should be worn: over slim black trousers with the zip half open. The fleece is thick with a dry, matte finish. Oversized by design; most men take one size down.

8. Graphic loose-fit pullover hoodie in black
Big chest graphic, loose body and a hood that stays up, this hoodie does the classic streetwear thing well and costs less than most on the list. Pair it with wide-leg denim and a chunky sole. Loose fit with a long body; true to size, XS to XXL.

How we chose
We took 90 days of sales across men's hoodies, removed anything with a return rate above the store average and ranked the rest on fit and wearability: whether a hoodie layers under a jacket, how it sits over wide and slim trousers, and how often customers came back for a second colour. Fleece weight and the quality of the zip or ribbing counted for more than the graphic. Prices are in AUD and sit below the boutique retail price.
How a hoodie should fit
Pick the fit from the trousers you wear most. Wide or barrel-leg trousers want a shorter, boxier hoodie so the proportions stay balanced; slim or tapered trousers can take a longer, oversized body. The shoulder seam should sit on or just past the shoulder bone, never halfway down the arm unless the whole piece is cut oversized. Check the hood: a good one stands up on its own and has a double-layer construction. Fleece under 350gsm is for layering, over 400gsm is a jacket substitute. Wash inside out, cold, and skip the dryer to keep the brushed interior soft.
